Just for fun.. Here is a current screenshot of etoile, showing the EtoileMenuServer, Azalea (the windowmanager), Nesedah (the theme) and HelpViewer... Things start to work together ;-) [note that the shadow should not/will not appear under the helpviewer menu item...]
Looks really good!! Any plans for deb packages on the future??
ReplyDeleteI wonder how you get the shadow of windows. It is definitely not done by Azalea.
ReplyDeleteno plans for deb packages for the moment -- we'll see for the 0.2 release of étoilé if somebody steps in...
ReplyDeleteyen-ju: I simply enabled composite on Xorg, and used xcompmgr -c& ! ;)
But as noted, we need to mark the apps menus as not casting any shadow, as the menu from EtoileMenuServer already cast a shadow. That, and I also noticed if you maximize a window, it goes over the menu. I'll try to commit something on the menu server to prevent that (it's just a couple of X hints to set).
yen-ju: in fact, using "xcompmgr -cC &" is enough to not get the double shadows on the menus :)
ReplyDeleteThat and your commit fixing the displacement for borderless window... it now looks perfect ;-)
Why no deb? I've had numerous unsuccessful attempts to build Etoile from source, not trivial stuff but stuff like "... no such method..." would pop. I have no clue as to what to do with that, and I want it so badly...
